The 7th CNRS School on Technology Enhanced Learning is organised in collaboration with the community of the STELLAR network of excellence. The 6th school was dedicated to Mobile Learning (2009). The 7th school of this program will focus on Game-Based Learning.
This school welcomes students, researchers and industrial partners working in the field of computer-based education, particularly in Game-Based Learning. The language spoken will be English. The lectures and workshops are organised in order to allow any participant not directly working in the GBL field to attend. For those interested, references to key papers will be available on the site of the school a few weeks before the event (see link to the site below).
The school will address several aspects of learning games. Each day, the lectures will focus on a particular facet of this way of learning:

A wide-ranging state of the art of the game-based learning domain, of the improvement of collaborative aspects in such environments, of adaptive aspects in games, and of the existing platforms;

A user-centred vision of GBL environments, including issues such as motivation, engagement, immersion, behaviour and learning outcomes;

The use of new technologies – such as virtual reality, augmented reality, mobility – on these environments;

The academic and industrial vision in the GBL area. The functions of organisations aiming at developing links between Universities and Companies, such as « French Competitiveness Poles » will also be discussed.

The timetable of the week plans for lectures (usually in the mornings) and practical work in groups (in the afternoons). There will be plenty of time for discussion among students, invited speakers, and people from companies working in this area.
